Between the 17^th and 19^th of April USALSA, FLSA and AULSS co-hosted the Australian Law Students’ Association’s April Council right here at the University of South Australia. We hosted 55 representatives of Law Schools from around Australia over the three days, during which the issues facing the student population were discussed. For those students who don’t yet know, ALSA council occurs three times a year. These meetings are intended to bring the different University Representatives together to discuss issues facing their association and their students. Everyone uses it as a great opportunity to knowledge share and network with the different Associations around Australai.

During the evenings there were a few social events for the councillors to enjoy. On the first night a cocktail evening was organised in the Bradley Forum of UniSA’s Hawke Centre. The evening was a great opportunity for some socialising and relaxation for the councillors. On the Sunday evening the weekend took us to The Union for some dinner and subsequently the councillors had the opportunity to move on and enjoy what Adelaide’s night life had to offer.

With so many comments on how successful the weekend was, the team organising the event must be commended for their efforts. A big thank you goes out to Carol Brewitt and Brooke Adey for their assistance during the event and also to Cassandra Baines and Myles Gillard for their assistance at the cocktail evening.

Adelaide defiantly surprised everyone and by the end of council it was agreed that we had set the bar very high for subsequent council meetings!
